The last time I created something in Flash was when it was still part of Macromedia, so it was definitely a new challenge. My original concept for an animation was a lot more difficult than I had anticipated so here's a much simpler one..haha. I'll get the other one up eventually...although it won't be as cool as I thought it was going to be..haha.
[Picture is of Black's Beach/Cliffs in La Jolla. I've made tributes to NY and SF, so it was time for one to SD]

creating a brand identity, pt. 1
Assignment: Create a brand and design an identity system.
We were split into groups according to our own values using The Distributive Justice Game (give it a go...it's quite interesting). We were the meritocrats, plus the one and only communist in the class..haha.
Anyhoo....
My group came up with the idea of creating an online museum specifically for digital art. We wanted our museum to be perceived as hip/chic, innovative, creative, and sophisticated.
The name we came up with is Gallery 72. Why 72? Because in terms of resolution, 72 dpi is used for the screen.
These are my brainstorming mock-ups:
When our group came together again we were surprised to see that we all had very similar ideas/concepts. Once the group saw everyone's ideas/sketches/mock-ups, we had a clearer vision of what we wanted our logo to look like. I was put in charge of finessing the logo.
These are my refined drafts:
And finally we agreed on this as our final logo:
With the logo complete, the rest of the group was responsible for designing various aspects of our identity kit.
To be continued....

match action editing
Assignment: Create a video using the matching action technique of editing. [Construct a scene that is action driven. Shoot from various angles. Edit together a seamless piece.]
Production value was not a focus for this exercise so I just used my dad's handycam to avoid the hassle of having to rent expensive equipment.

Special thanks to Mike and Dash (my roommates)!
